PRAMAC has been selected by the China National Genebank to provide back-up power for their data center with GSW2270M and GSW2040M generators.

The Shenzhen-based national gene bank focuses on the development of life science research, its industry infrastructure and public welfare services platform, storing and managing their own genetic resources, biological information and genetic data. The purpose is to maintain the lifeblood of national survival and development and, at a national level, the national strategic needs of the public welfare service innovation research and industrial infrastructure projects.

The Shenzhen national gene bank is the only one in China, the fourth gene database in the world and is also called "Noah's ark".

The data center is very strict with the requirement of electric power safety, required to reach TIER3 grade. The city’s electric grid uses double-loop power supply; UPS adopts N+N redundancy. The diesel generator unit is divided into two regions, and the whole project fire emergency power supply adopts a GSW2040M/1600KW unit. The data center is equipped with two GSW2270M/1800KW units, one main and one standby.

The Shenzhen national gene bank has become the fourth most important national gene bank globally after the National center for biotechnology information (NCBI), the European bioinformatics institute (EBI) and the Japan DNA database (DDBJ).

Compared with the other three gene banks by size, storage and accessible data, the Shenzhen national gene bank has also become the largest in the world.
